IHG comprises 18 different brands, with properties like the wellness-inspired Six Senses, trendy Kimpton and cheerful Hotel Indigo (IHG plans to open more than 200 in the next three years).

It was a challenge to select our top choices for the best IHG hotels around the world, but here are the 19 that made our list.

In typical “city that never sleeps” fashion, the hotel’s communal spaces, such as the business center and the gym (which is well equipped with cardio machines and weights), are open 24 hours. This is a welcome perk for jet-lagged business travelers or anyone who may want a quick jog or stretch at an off time.

New York City’s hotel rooms are often small, but the HY36’s guest rooms and bathrooms are bigger than the average city hotel room, which is always appreciated in an urban destination like Manhattan. For those who love to look out over the busy city streets, the rooms’ floor-to-ceiling windows offer great views of all the hustle and bustle without being directly in the middle of it.

Should you crave a bite to eat within steps of your room, venture down to the lobby to savor American-inspired bites at Burgerology Midtown.

Rates for the Crowne Plaza HY36 Midtown Manhattan start at $218 or 32,000 IHG One Rewards points per night.

Best for: Travelers who want a hotel with the personality of a grand dame without any stuffiness.

Why stay here: This stunning building inspired by a 16th-century chateau delivers all the modern amenities you could need — and you can even book it with points.

Best way to book: Reserve your stay through our partner, Skylark, to earn IHG points and enjoy elite-like benefits and property credits, or book through IHG to take advantage of award nights or IHG status.

There’s nothing like a landmark hotel for a memorable city stay, and the Kimpton Fitzroy London delivers thanks to its gorgeous marble entryway, imposing lobby and convenient location along leafy Russell Square.

Beyond the historical aspect of this hotel (it dates back to 1898), it remains very of the moment. Guest rooms are designed for contemporary comfort, with minimalist canopy beds, marble bathrooms with rainfall showers and minibars with Nespresso machines.

The suites’ freestanding tubs, some of which sit beneath beautiful bay windows so guests can overlook London’s hubbub from the bath, are a showstopper. If you really want to splurge, though, consider a night in the Fitzroy Suite, which is home to a stunning fireplace and four separate rooms.

Visitors may not want to spend much time inside the hotel given how much there is to do in London. However, afternoon tea (a British cultural institution in itself) in the verdant Palm Court atrium is worth a break. Try to save time for a meal at Galvin Bar & Grill as well. Helmed by Michelin-starred chefs Chris and Jeff Galvin, the venue offers contemporary British pub grub made with ethically sourced ingredients.
