If you’d like to leave the kids at home, take a romantic getaway with your partner or sip cocktails on the beach with your friends, adults-only resorts are a great way to relax and rejuvenate without the squeals and splashes that typically come with taking the kids to the pool.
It’s important to note that all-inclusive is not synonymous with adults-only, especially in Europe. While there are a few options on this list that offer all-inclusive rates, adults-only means young children aren’t allowed at the hotel or resort, whether it be a massive international brand or a small boutique spot.
Related: Why all-inclusive resorts are more attractive than ever post-pandemic
If you plan to travel with older teens, check the age requirements before staying. Some adults-only properties still allow kids as young as 12 or 16, depending on the property, while others welcome travelers 18 and older. Then there are others that require guests be at least 21 years old. Assuming your kids are at (or above) the age limit set by the hotel, don’t be shy about bringing them along for a sophisticated family vacation — they are more than welcome.
Whether you plan to sprawl out on a pool chair or snuggle up in a suite with your honey in the Mediterranean, here are some of TPG’s favorite adults-only hotels and resorts in Europe.
Thalassa Beach Resort
Crete, Greece
Best for: Families with older teenagers.
Why stay here: If your teens will enjoy activities like cooking classes and beach yoga while you elbow up to the swim-up bar or hit the spa for a hot stone massage, this resort has everything you need.
Best way to book: Book Thalassa Beach Resort directly through the hotel.
Although this family-owned resort on Crete, which welcomes guests 16 and older, has close to 100 guest rooms and suites, it still has a boutique feel. As a result, you can expect to be welcomed like family with genuine Greek hospitality.
At Thalassa Beach Resort’s private beach, guests can partake in intimate dinners with dreamy views of nearby Thodorou Island. For those who like to mix culture with their sunset cocktails, the on-site Mare Art Gallery hosts international, Greek and local Cretian artists. The gallery is free for resort guests to tour.
As far as accommodations go, all rooms and suites have airy terraces. Should you crave some extra amenities like a Jacuzzi, splurge on a superior suite.
Rates start at $98 per night and include breakfast (half-board options are also available at an additional cost). Keep in mind that this seasonal property is closed annually from November to March.

Casa Cook
Rhodes, Greece
Best for: Sunshine-seeking friend groups.
Why stay here: Rhodes Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Center with an impressive mix of mosques, monasteries, synagogues and Greek Orthodox churches. Here is your opportunity to soak up history and culture during the day and retreat to tranquil luxury at the hotel each evening.
Best way to book: Book Casa Cook directly through the hotel.
One of the boho-chic hotels for travelers 16 and older that somehow survived when Thomas Cook went under, Casa Cook on Rhodes is perfect for groups of friends looking for lazy days in the sunshine and poolside yoga — or couples who want to enjoy off-beat, intimate activities like private sailing in the Aegean or secluded hikes. Here, you’ll fill your Instagram feed with sleek shots of fringed, poolside hammocks and farm-to-table Greek cuisine.
If you can tear yourself away from the pool or ocean views, head to the bustling old town of Rhodes, with its rich history and various religious influences. A thorough exploration of this fascinating city will work up an appetite for a well-deserved lunchtime gyro (a classic cheap meat snack cooked on a vertical rotisserie wrapped with salad in pita flatbread and served with drizzles of garlic sauce). Grab one and a refreshing cocktail at the property’s poolside Kitchen Club.
When you’re ready to retire for the night, choose one of the light and airy accommodations. Most have verandas that overlook the shared pool, though a few upgraded options come with their own private pools, plus Jacuzzis or outdoor rain showers.
Rates start at $139 per night and include breakfast. This seasonal property is closed every year from November to March.
AluaSoul Ibiza Resort
Ibiza, Spain

Best way to book: Book AluaSoul directly through the hotel. As an AMR Collection brand, this property has just joined World of Hyatt.
Ibiza is already a destination that caters to adults. However, AluaSoul Ibiza Resort takes a slightly different approach to its party-focused neighbors.
At this all-inclusive hotel, which welcomes guests 16 and older, you’ll find a mix of relaxation and fun, making it apt for either couples or groups. From the all-white guest rooms with brushed wood details to the massive pool with Balinese beds, AluaSoul is the ideal spot for a grown-up Ibicenco getaway.
You don’t have to dance all night here, but if you find yourself intoxicated by the dreamy white island, there are world-class parties seven nights per week just a taxi ride away. Why not hit the dance floor each night and then rest and recover by the pool each day?
All-inclusive rates start at $132 per night for two people when booked directly through the hotel as a member rate discount. World of Hyatt redemptions have not yet been loaded.

Hotel Alhambra Palace
Granada, Spain
Best for: Couples craving a relaxing city retreat.
Why stay here: Just a 10-minute walk from the city center, this 120-year-old luxury property provides spectacular views of the famous city of Granada and the Sierra Nevada mountains.
Best way to book: Book directly with Hotel Alhambra Palace.

Staying here is ideal for sightseers, as the location is conveniently situated close to the Alhambra fortress and palace complex. That said, you’d be equally content spending your visit relaxing on the hotel’s terrace with a sunset cocktail or visiting its organic urban garden.
Once you’re ready for a bite to eat, head to the property’s Principe restaurant, which offers traditional Andalusian cuisine, including ajoblanco cold soup with the unusual combination of white garlic, roasted pineapple and fresh anchovies; clarified consommé with truffle; and slow-cooked sturgeon fish with citrus. To wash down your gourmet meal, order a fancy oversized gin and tonic — the Spanish take this seemingly simple combination very seriously.

Just a short drive from the Swiss border and close to the Naturns railway station (which you can get to and from via complimentary transfers), this adults-only property provides phenomenal views of northern Italy’s jaw-dropping mountains.
While many come for outdoor activities like hiking and cycling, if these kinds of pursuits aren’t your thing, don’t fret: You can spend your time lounging in one of the resort’s six different pools or at the sprawling six-story spa, which is continually voted one of the top spas in Italy. The latter features a whopping seven different saunas, making it a terrific place to unwind.
